Modelling the complete process
The plant combines several treatment steps such as multimedia filtration (MMF), ultra filtration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO).OTmatic models the complete process in its platform, including every filter, instrument, pump, and valve. Each component has its own control logic and role within the sequence.
The PLC and SCADA are generated from that model. The resulting automation is fully documented and vendor-independent.
By generating the PLC and SCADA from the process model, OTmatic allows Nuoro’s team to focus on the process rather than the programming.

Reusable modules for future projects
The containerised and modular setup makes this exactly the kind of project OTmatic is designed for. Every treatment step, from pump, valve and instrument to the complex UF and RO units, is built as a reusable module in the platform.
When the same modules return in a following Nuoro project, they are already available in the platform. This means the automation can be developed in a fraction of the time. The approach is particularly relevant for companies that want to standardise and productise their technologies across multiple installations.
Structured data from the same model
The model also provides context for the data generated by the plant. Every tag already contains information about its function, unit and role within the process.
After commissioning, the operational data will therefore be structured and labelled from the start. It can flow into the OTmatic data platform for monitoring and reporting, as well as potential applications such as predictive resin replacement.
The same model is used to generate the automation and structure the plant data, without requiring a separate integration project after start-up.
